Dementia Alliance - Logan (Dementia-Friendly Communities program)
Group Description
We encourage, enable and empower all community members and organisations to join us in making the City of Logan an inclusive dementia-friendly community by raising awareness of dementia through information, community conversations, dementia choir and the delivery of ‘Become a Dementia Friend’ workshops.
Who can Join
(Alliance) All residents of Logan and it’s surrounding areas who want to contribute to an inclusive dementia-friendly community. (Choir) People living independently with a diagnosis of dementia and their key people and support workers.
Contact hours
Choir sessions are held every Wednesday  (excluding school holidays) in the Bethania Community Centre.

Our purpose is to enable individuals living with dementia to lead active and fulfilling lives with dignity and respect by building communities in which people living with dementia are understood, accepted & included; and their key people are seen and heard.

Our focus is to empower people living with dementia with choice and control over their everyday decisions; understand their full potential and personal rights; and right to be understood, respected, and supported to thrive in their areas of interest. We also support family members and primary carers with navigating the range of government-funded resources and support services, including advocacy, self-care and peer support.
